I created a workbook which tracks daily and end of month totals for 12 months. Totals for one month are carried over to the next month. I embedded it in a word doc which serves as the header\footer. I have one such file for each client and over 80 clients.
I need to pick up the total from the last day of the 12th month in order to set up the first day of the first month of the new 12-month file for each client. I have tried links of all types including simplifying to a link with an ExcelWorksheet which would serve as a file listing the last day of the 12th month for all clients. The link initially works (when set up) and then upon closing and re-opening corrupts to #Name? if update is selected. I also noticed that a numrical refernce (in the Path) between the Word document and the row-column cell reference is present when the link is set up (....B.doc'!'!_1211620724!Jun!R34C4')and disappears (....B.doc'!'!Jun!R34C4')after closing and reopening the file. What can I do to avoid manually seting up new files every 12 months?

Are you pulling this data into Access? If not, you may have better luck in the Office Forum.

I use Access to populate the Word client header (mail merge) and save it as a .....doc. The Excel Workbook is embedded into the ...doc. Each month must show the daily activity and resulting fees. The calendar style billing is standard.
