Please help me to restore a Oracle Dump file that is generated from a Unix sever onto a Oracle installed on Windows Server 2003? Actually I dont have much knowledge on Unix, so please let me know the detailed steps or the exact tool that can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Reply:

imp username/password@SID file=C:/FILENAME.dmp fromuser=XXXXX touser=XXXXX ignore=y log=C:/import.log

if you start with that command, you will probably see a message in your console that says the records were exported by SOMEUSER and not by you. Use this value in the fromuser field.

SID is the oracle SID, which should be in the tnsnames.ora file
