Hi,

We have just installed visual studio 2008 which includes sql server compact edition 3.5. We want to export an sql server 2000 based database to newly installed sql server compact edition 3.5 for a windows mobile application, we created a .sdf using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express 2005 9.00.3042.00 and used Data Port Wizard to export database from sql server 2000 to sql ce 3.5. This utility supports exporting to sql ce 3.5.

The problem we are facing is that after successfully exporting the db we can not open it in SQL Server Management Studio Express 9.00.3042.00, it gives us the following error:

You are trying to access an older version of a SQL Server Compact Edition database. If this is a SQL Server CE 1.0 or 2.0 database, run upgrade.exe. If this is a SQL Server Compact Edition 3.0 or later database, run Compact / Repair. [ Db version = 3505053,Requested version = 3004180,File name = D:\Projects\mobileYOT\mobileYOT\original_db\mobileYOT.sdf ] (SQL Server Compact Edition ADO.NET Data Provider)

it works fine with the northwind.sdf or any db created using SQL Server Management Studio Express 2005 9.00.3042.00
