Conert MS Excel into MS access

Specs: Windows XP, 3.00 GHZ / 540 MB ram
When I try to import a Excel spread sheet into Access data base after first saving the excel sheet as a dbf IV format the access ( office 1997 or office 2000) ( saves as NZU CLUBS.dbf) I get the message
"The Microsoft jet engine could not find the object "NZU CLUBS.dbf" Make sure the object exisist and that you spell it's name and the path correctly"

very frustraing any Idea what is going on?

Any reason why you are saving an Excel spreadsheet in DBF IV format. DBF IV is nearly as old as I am.

The easiest way to import an Excel file is to save it as a comma delimited file and import that. You might also try eliminating the space in the file name. In some circumstances that can cause problems.
