i just cant connect to my MS SQL server. the server is MS SQL server 2000 enterprise edition (installed in w2k advanced server), and i'm connecting to it via xp workstation. when i click file->new->blank data access page->new sql server connection->other advanced->microsoft ole db provider for sql server, and enter the server name and my user name and password. and click connect an error pops up saying:
Connection failed: Sql state '08001' Sql server error:6 [DBNMPNTW]Specified sql server not found.
the issue here is that i can perfectly connect to the intended database in this same server via another xp machine in the same LAN. i tried authenticating both with the windows (Domain)authentication and the SQL server's SA account non was successfull how do i authenticate in and access the database please?
