I have a DOS prompt program which can be run in Window 98 normally. However, it can't run in WIndow XP. The error message is "open error LOTIDB.NDX(4)". How to solve it?

DOS Prompt program? Does that mean it's a DOS program and it won't run in XP? If so, you'd have better luck in the XP Forum, as this is the Database Forum.

Steven,

LOTIDB.NDX is a dBASE or FoxPro or similar xBASE file. It is the index file for a table file which is likely called LOTIDB.DBF.

You can try posting this question in the free news groups supported by dBASE's owner Databased Intelligence at news://news.dbase.com

It is likely related to the security features of the newer operating system.
