blank page saved insttead of real thing

um...I typed something up, then my friend kept clicking buttons, then i took the mouse and clicked the exit button. A box appeared and read save yes, no, cancel. I clicked yes while my stuff was still on there. When i tried to access it again, the whole page was blank! So how do I unsave it or recover the information from before. I know it can be done because once my computer had a virus problem but once it was fixed my information i had typed (that is not related to th one i was talking about) was cut in half!
