Does anyone know of a good reference and tutorial/walk-through for ACE and 4GL on Informix 6/7 for UNIX in general? The company I work for os giving me progressively harder scripting and reporting projects for our customer but I have no references other than previous code and google. sco.com is now down as far as documentation goes, other UNIX docs are not always dead-on and require experimentation, I had a scripting class 6 years ago on UNIX, not much since. I only learned Java and Oracle in school. Did I mention the only compilers I have are on a SCO UNIX 3.2 box, so the references should be Informix era 1990 compatible, or try to be.

No really this is the DIM result of f***ing yourself in the point-of-sale industry and not being able to get out of it.

I haven't used ACE in years, but all of the Informix documentation is available at:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/dat...

The best book for SQL?4GL is Cathy Kipp's "Programming Informix SQL/4GL":

http://www.amazon.com/Programming-I...

I think it's out of print, but is probably available used.

If you have specific Unix scripting questions, I'm available - with many others - over in the Unix forum.
