Comment: Hello... I guess, i need some help in overclocking my cpu... *G* My system : Athlon XP2000+ Epox 8K9A2+ 2 x WD 80 GB (Raid 0) GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128MB 8x AGP 2 x 512 MB DDR PC333 Infineon Now, i think that system is cool, but the cpu is a little to slow... Could anyone tell me, how to set FBS, voltage and feq. to run 2200 MHz ?? I've never overclocked a CPU and I'm afraid of killing it !! *G* Thanks in advance.. Quaelbold

Reply: (edit)2200 Mhz is a bit much 2 ask from an amd tbred, i got 2 gig outta my 2100 by upping the FSB to 160. If u have a decent fan then u should b able to achieve similar results.

Reply: (edit)Yeah give vague advice..that's helpful lets all just OC blindly and toss caution to the wind? I'm going to ask if you want it to run the equivalent of a XP 2200+ or 2200Mhz? if the ladder you're looking for trouble. Best you can prob do is raise the FSB little by little in the BIOS and test your computer and watch the heat and stability of the comp aswell. Typically when OC'ing you'll need a good HSF and not the one that came in the box with the cpu. There's always so much to explain when someone is looking to overclock and i just explained a bit. I suggest you look around the net for how to's and info on Overclocking. There is prob an article out there where someone OC's that same chip you have. But remember be realistic about the speed you want to get to some sites use watercooling and such to achieve high speeds. Be careful and take your time Oc'ing it's not something you should just set to whatever and leave it.

Reply: (edit)Anyone who is overclocking an XP processor using the FSB needs to go to tomshardware. There is a write up about overclocking XP's using the FSB. The safest way is to use the multiplier. I was using the FSB and was having stability problems till I read tomshardware. Now my problem is gone. A BIOS update will give you more multipliers to choose from. Last, I think as far as you are going to go with a 2000+ is 2100+. Much higher than that and you will have temp and stability problems. If you can find a way to get that high then you need to get a big huge fan with a big huge heat sink along with a way to keep an eye on your motherboard temps.
