Hi, i recently installed 2 more gigs of ram into my PC, which brings it up to 4gigs, but Microsoft says i only have 2.75gigs.
I know XP limits the RAM, why?
And was my investment a complete waste? is the extra 1.25 gigs of ram being utilized?

But 1.25 GB unrecognized seems like more than just the limitations of 32-bit, to me. When the BIOS diagnostic screen loads on boot, do you see all 4 GB recognized? Make sure you installed all the sticks correctly and run Memtest86+. Take into account, as well, if you have integrated graphics then some of the RAM is reserved for video memory.
EDIT: Nevermind, upon reading the linked article it is possible that it will recognize as little of the 4 GB as it is now.
