Comment:

Is the XP 2500-333Mhz with the Barton core a bit faster than the 2700-333Mhz T-bred due to its higher L2 cache?

Either one will be going on a motherboard that supports them and will have 512 MB of Kingston PC 2700 Ram.

The L2 cache of the barton is worth about 80 rating points, yet AMD gives it 300 points.

That's why everyone is able to claim (rightly) that the P4 3.0g creams an xp 3000+. AMD blew it by overrating the barton.

With my stock cooler on my Barton 2500, I just went straight to the BIOS and changed to multiplier up to 12.5x ( highest available ) and then, with a temp raise of 2*C, I have a 180 dollar 2800+. No voltage increases or anything else. Just a couple clicks to a CPU that costs twice as much.
