I have a
XP 2000+
512 MB 266 Ram
geforce 4 440 se
40 GB ata 133 7200 rpm
MSI kt3v 333 mhz board
420 Watt Power Supplyand
DEll
p4 1.7
256 MB 133 sdram
geforce mx 400
40 GB ata 100
Dell mobo
350 Watt PSUon sysmark 2001 scores were:
XP 2000+ = 1830P4 1.7 = 2351
why is this?? everything on the AMD is faster I checked with sisoftware sandra and yet the P4 scores better
any input would be appreciated

what is that supposed to mean....guys I am asking for real info not some drunk with a keyboard...
thanks in advance

Pentium has better optimizations for office work and content creation wich is what sysmark is for I believe.
Amd is more optimized for gaming.
Faster is not always the better. Pentium is good at certain things Amd is better at others.

I was wondering that myself....in sysoftware sandra and a few other progs that I got all say that every single part of the AMD is superior right down to the CPU and sysmark got a better score. Just made no sense....thanks guys!!!

really amd rocks. eventhough a have a pentium cpu, i was beaten by my my friend's system. i have a willamette p4 1.5 and he got an athlon 1800+ which clocks as the same as my 1.5(~1.53). in all benchmark progs except sysmark, he greatly won and we can see the difference but intel can live longer and are very stable.

well why dont u tell ur friend to turn of his coller and u turn off ur coller that ul see how much intel is batter then athlon
or run this test bouth of u play the same game like high graphics games and ul see that intel will play at bater performance
my friend got 2.4ghz compaq and i hot hp 1.9
and hes always talling how his comp is faster and batter that my which is not true and he brought his comp over my house wee hooked it up and play the unrel tournament aftes 3 or 4 hours his comp suddenly slow down but my p4 got even batter lol see that is difference between intel and thlon the intel will stay longer that athlon with out coller
