well i have posted this before but wasnt so clear on my information. the cpu is running 1.15ghz and it is suppose to run at 1.53ghz. i know that i will have to change the fsb to get the correct speed but there is where i have a problem?? i have no jumpers to set the fsb so that aint an option. when i go to bios and go to the *CPU PNP SETUP PAGE* it is suppose to state the CPU SPEED, CPU FREQUENCY AND DRAM FREQUENCY, but when i go to it all it says is CPU TYPE:PRO2000+,CPU CORE VOLTAGE:1.520V. i am out of ideas and dont know what to do. this aint my comp but my dads comp right know!!!!! any help would be grateful!!!!

Your dad's got one of those infamous AIO boards, PCChips had soldered the CPU directly to the motherboard.

What you see is not what you got, CPU TYPE:PRO2000+ actually means crap. You've probably got a Duron in there, if you are lucky to flash to a comparable standard BIOS, give it a shot.

I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

I figure you saying the old CPU that came with the board was removable ?

It's a PCChips low end piece of crap board based on low end piece of crap SiS chipset & comes with a low end piece of crap Duron preinstalled. The board only supports 100MHz FSB. Did you have to unscrew the heatsink to remove it?
