Generally speaking upgrading the RAM is the cheapest/easiest upgrade for performance, but to answer your question, really theres two answers:
1. If you are talking about upgrading a 933Mhz to a 1Ghz to a 1.4Ghz (since you have a PIII this is probablly all your board will take) then yes you will probably see a better performance gain from the RAM. 2. If you are talking about upgrading with a much faster chip such as a 1.5Ghz+, then no the RAM would not be the better of the two, but since most boards of this speed (1.5Ghz+) support DDR and if you upgrade the CPU to this speed, then you will probably have to, or would be better off to spring for the DDR RAM which is no comparison to the PC133 so that alone would be considerally faster than your current speed.

Don't spend any money on a P3 it's so old.
I got a friend who got a P3 933mhz 256 mb S-Dram (pc-133)& compare to my Athlon 1700+ with 256mb DDR i'm 3 time faster for installing programms like windows , drivers etc.. & i did test for some games but i'm already shure that i'm much faster then he's computer.
Man!if really you gone to get Alienware well keep your money to buy yourself some new games.
BTW:what is going to be inside that Alienware Pentium4 , AMD & how much GHZ? RAM? VIDEO?
or are you just thinking about buying one?
