I was trying to replace my stock fan with this copper heatpipe one and it did not get hot enough for me to pull off the heatsink. When I tried to pull it off and failed I put the case back on and powered my computer on. Ooops. I forgot to plug in the cpu fan. It takes like 20 seconds or so to boot to xp and that's when i realized i forgot to plug it in. I quickly turned it of plugged in the fan and pushed on the heatsink to secure it. Now my temperatures are different. Usually they are at 38-42C at idle at most but now when i turn it on its like at 31-40C at idle! Is my cpu ok and i just reseated and it got better heat flow or did i like break a temperature sensor? Will my CPU be ok?

Reseating the heatsink/fan probably made better contact for heat flow, and you probably wiped off some dust that accumulated on the heatsink and fan.
Your CPU and temperature sensors are just fine! :)

Thank you. My temperatures always seem to change each time I boot like once it was 37, then it was 35, but now for some reason its 43C. IS that normal for a quad?

I'm not sure if your specific processor is supposed to have temperature changes like that when you boot, but if the computer is acting normal, I wouldn't worry about it.
