Hi.. I wanted to know whether putting 2x256 memory modules in dual channel mode instead of 1x512 would help boost performance.

I asked this because I'm not sure of the upper limit of the FSB of my CPU. Below are the specifications as shown by CPU-Z.

Your system WILL benefit from a dual channel configuration. I suggest 2 x 512MB PC3200, not 2 x 256MB

Agreed as above: 2 x 512mb at least is better.

but then if you are stuck with 512, then 2x256 in dual channel is still better than just a single 512 in one channel.
