Hi, i'm new to the pc upgrading game and was wondering if the AMD Athlon XP3200+ CPU will work on my GA-7S748 mobo?

Is there a site where you can check mobo/cpu compatibility?

GA-7S748(-L) Main Specification:

• Socket A for AMD AthlonXP processor
• Supports FSB 400/333 MHz
• SiS 748/963L Chipset
• DDR 400 memory support
• AGP 8x/4x, 5 PCI slot
• 6 USB 2.0/1.1 ports
• 6-channel AC97 audio with Jack Sensing
• Two Ultra ATA133 Connectors
• 10/100Mbps Ethernet connection (GA-7S748-L only)
• Easytune™ 4, Q-Flash™, @BIOS™

Most times you can easily OC a 2500+ to a 3200+ by changing the FSB in your BIOS. Look into that option before buying the 3200+ processor.

List of lists

Plug it in and see, or google for the info. If it's not on the manufacturer's web site, no matter what anyone says here will matter.

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users
