For best performance on a P4 system, the RAM should run at the same bus speed as the CPU, regardless of what speed RAM you have. Or to put it more correctly, the RAM throughput should equal the CPU bandwidth.

The D805 is "supposed" to run at 133MHz (533FSB) with a bandwidth of 4267MB/s

Your PC5300 RAM is "supposed" to run at 333MHz (DDR667). If it was running at that speed, a single stick would have a potential max throughput of 5333MB/s...that already surpasses what the CPU would be capable of at it's default FSB. If your RAM is in dual channel mode, the throughput doubles to 10666MB/s!

The CPU:DRAM ratio should be set at 1:1. With your FSB at 140MHz (560FSB), your RAM should also be running at 140MHz (DDR280)...with the RAM in dual channel mode, the RAM throughput would equal the CPU bandwidth. If the RAM's being recognized as PC4300, you're probably running it at 266MHz (DDR533) or thereabouts.

Seems like your CPU:DRAM ratio is set at 1:2?

Thank you guyz for the replies. And you guys are right on. They are patriot ram and after downloading cpu-z my cpu:ram ratio is 1:2. I am currently running on dual channel and my memory speed is pc5300. Should I return the ram since I juss bought it from Fry's? and then buy juss 1gb or a lower memory speed or should i keep it for overclocking purposes. Because I plan to overclock my 805 to about 3.8Ghz, i think thats a little less than 200mhz.
