Comment: I wonder which Celeron Tualatin CPU is better to overclock. I have these choices: Celeron 1.300 SL6C7 (Core Stepping B1 OEM) Celeron 1.300 SL6JT (Core Stepping B1 boxed) Celeron 1.400 SL6JU (Core Stepping B1 boxed) A friend have the Celeron 1.300 boxed one OC @1.560 FSB:120Mhz. He says that it cannot run stably beyond this, even raising the voltage. I think that this can be due to the crippled Celeron BIU, or maybe because Intel designed the Tualatin core to not go beyond 1.600Mhz. So I have these posibilities: - If it can go beyond 1.600Mhz. Celeron 1.400 OC @1.780 FSB:120Mhz. - If it cannot go beyond 1.600Mhz. (most probably) Celeron 1.400 OC @1.610 FSB:115Mhz. Celeron 1.300 OC @1.560 FSB:120Mhz. (my friend) Celeron 1.400 OC @1.540 FSB:110Mhz. * What do you think is better? * Will I get same results with the OEM processors or I should use the BOXED ones? Please tell me your thoughts/experiences

Reply: (edit)Depends on the MotherBoard you buy.... i'd personally take the 1300 for OC reasons, but it wont be bad to try something new, the 1400 then !!

Reply: (edit)Well I have a QDI Advance 10T w/o onboard audio yet (of course if I don't have the M.B. I'd bought another thing...) The board has jumpers to setup CPU core voltage from 1.050 to 1.825 in steps of 25mVolts (acconding to VRM8.5). The multiplier jumpers go from 4.5x to 16x The FSB jumper only lets you to select 66/100/133, but the BIOS has a menu "SpeedEasy CPU SETUP" that lets you configure FSB/PCI clock to your tastes. And What about OEM/BOXED processors? I'll save some money with an OEM one, and I have a CoolerMaster DP5-6I31A cooler with little use, but I'm afraid that OEM processors have worse quality than BOXED ones and less OC potential.
