my amd k6-2 500mhz couldn't reach 550mhz. it max at 522mhz (95mhz x 5.5). can you tell me if it is faster at 500mhz(100mhz x 5)? another question is, adia32 shows 522mhz when i overclock with 95mhz x 5.5 and amdcpuid shows 523mhz, whereas dx9 shows 510mhz. which is correct? thanks.

5 x 100 is better than 5.5 x 95. You're sacrificing FSB speed to increase the CPU only a few mhz. If you do the math, 5.5 x 95 = 522.5 mhz. Even at 5.5 x 100 you probably wouldn't notice any difference. It'd be better to run at 4.5 x 112 (504 mhz) if you have that FSB setting available. But if you insist on going for 5.5 x 100, try raising the CPU voltage to 2.3v...if that doesn't work, try 2.4v...if that doesn't work, drop back to 5 x 100 @ 2.2v & call it a day...
...there is no spoon...

hi jam,
i've tried 4.5 x 112mhz but an error message appeared on boot - memory failed. guess my ram can't handle it. also try 5.5 x 100mhz with 2.2v, 2.3v, 2.4v, 2.5v and 2.8v. at 2.8v, i try running need for speed posche and desert storm, it freeze in less then half an hour. now, im back at 5 x 100mhz. thanks.

Hi Litz
AMD K6-2 see's a 2x multiplier as a 6x. So if you set your multiplier to 2x and your fsb to 100 you can go as fast as 600Mhz. Or set you fsb to 95 and multiplier to 2x and you will get 570Mhz. But just letting you know that a 2x multiplier is seen as a 6x with the AMD K6-2 CPU's
