Comment:

Done quite a bit of research but conclusions are not with me.

Which would be better?

6800XT

6800LE

I've read that they are both poor overclockers or maybe not?

Is the difference between them the onboard ram? 512 v 128

They are both 8 pipes and 4 shaders right?

Is it worth the extra £45 for the xt with the 512?

Your sig shows a 6600GT, why are you looking at those two cards? (those are'nt upgrades to your 6600GT)

The 7600GS/GT (AGP) *may* likely hit the shelves in about 6 weeks. Now, if you are really desperate and can't wait that long, you should get a 6800GS instead of that 6800XT with your £115.00, but seriously I hope you hold off for the 7600 AGP series.

Below is a list of outlets in the UK including komplett, you may find better deals.

Rig in question is not in my sig,sorry.

I'm replacing my fx5600 in my older system which is an oc'd 2.5 mobile in an nf7-s.

Was contemplating getting another 6600GT.

Don't really want to spend a great deal so thought the 6800's(and oc it) might fit my bill?

6800gs is about £160's = too much

Price vs Performance the options above are much better selection.

The X1600Pro is indeed good for the price, but overall the 6800NU is better card.

I'd read that the NU's were almost impossible to get nowadays?

Are these 2 NU's?

NU = Non Ultra.

6800NU = 6800 (Vanilla) = 6800 (Plain Jane)

Asus TD 6800 (128MB & 512MB) = Non Ultras

Even though the 512MB card has a 128-bit memory interface, the 128MB Asus V9999 is a 256-bit card.

Everyone knows the chart from techPowerUp is not an exhaustive list and therefore cannot be 100% accurate. At best, it is meant to be a reference guide when researching graphic cards.

For instance, there is an entry for the 6800 AGP in that list, but its specification is a little different from the 6800 AGP in the machine that I'm typing this on.

Leadtek WinFast A400 FX 6800

Core Clock Speed: 325 MHz

Memory Clock Speed: 350 MHz

Card Interface: AGP 8x

Memory Data Width: 256-bit

Installed Memory: 128 MB (DDR SDRAM)

I believe the table at techpowerup.com contains the "reference specs"...card manufacturer's are free to change them as they see fit
