I see so many advertisement about the new centrino chip, what is so good about this chip that everyone is getting hyped up over it. Is it better than the intel 4 hyper threading? Someone tell me what kind of special performance in the centrino

did you read any facts about the centrino in the advertisements. The centrino isn't the processor it's the combination of the Pentium Mobile processor and certain wireless technologies. Notice I said Pentium M not P3 M or P4 M. It's the latest pentium mobile processor, It comes in speeds ranging from 1.3ghz to 1.7ghz (i think). It's very fast for it's clock speed, not quite as fast as the Pentium 4's but comes close. The main point of attraction is the battery life, with certain power saving functions enabled, you can squeeze more than 6 hours worth of power from a single normal laptop battery. Now do you any 3.2ghz HT P4 that can last 6 hours in a laptop. By the way centrino laptops weigh considerably less than the equivalent P4 and also cost less.(usually). I hope this clears up any confusion about the new centrino technologies.
