Ok, IVe worked with computers for some time (mostly AMD and pre P4 systems) anyway Im realy new to overclocking, and just have to know.

What in the world is a Pelter?

well i don't know alot but i do know what a pelter does, it fits between the cpu and cpu fan it cooling it down with electric. i think people can correct me. if i'm wrong

Peltier is hell a lot older than computer, came about the turn of the century.

The only "bad" thing about it is once you are too close to it's "limit", the reverse happens.

The second issue is hight power consumption.

Otherwise, it's great.

The best use of a Peltier I've seen is with a watercooling system (i.e. a 'waterchiller' where the Peltier cools the water, and the water cools the CPU). Way more effective cooling with both a Peltier and water than a Peltier alone on your cpu. Way more effective that way as the water provides a good 'buffer' for the heat. Peltiers suck up alot of juice - you may very well need to run a separate power supply for it. With a waterchilling system, there is the need of insulating the tubing as condensation may build up on it.
