Subject: What Socket Is Duron A ?

Hi

A friend of mine has a Duron 1300 and wants to upgrade. I was pretty sure that the Duron is the same 462 pin as the Athlon as he wants to upgrade his CPU to a Athlon XP of some sort. Is this possible, or will it depend on the motherboard?

Thanks

The Duron is a socket A & so is the AXP, but tell your friend to go to the motherboard manufacturer's website to find out what CPUs are supported by his board...it may not even accept the AXP, or it may only support the model 6 (Palomino) version. Don't buy anything until you check it out.

Hellz Yea!
