I want to know (hear advices from you guys) what processor to buy for the following purpose:
-> Video editing / production
-> 3D graphics designing using 3ds max / Maya
-> hardcore Flash Animation
-> ALSO, games, games, games.Please tell me who's the best when it comes to these tasks. Should I buy AMD 64 or Pentium 4 HT or Pentium 4? help me. : ) Thanks in advance.

AMD would whoop intel on most, if not all of those categories. especially the games and such. although i am slightly biased to AMD, i try to not let that affect advice i give.

-> Video editing / production
-> 3D graphics designing using 3ds max / MayaAny multimedia work ur gonna be doing, it would be a wiser choice to go with Intel. p4 handles video and audio encodng more efficiently then AMD CPU's. Also i would assume that ur also gonna be doing a lot of multitasking too, like Photoshop and other editing software of that nature. Again, for that purpose Intel would be the way to go>>>> Dont take my word for go to Tom's hardware review site and see for ur self! The battle amoung AMD vs Intel has brought a lot of enthusiast to show benchmarks on all the categories i have mentioned.
AS for tImmaY's Response "AMD would whoop intel on most, if not all of those categories" = FALSE, lets try not to lie to ourselfs, :-)
AMD wins in the games department though.
We only buy hardware so we can run software on it.

I am going to agree with Quantum here. If you do more audio and video editing than playing games, go with intel possibly the celeron. If you do more gameing than audio and video editing go with teh AMD based processor
