I got a PC Chips M 599 LMR with an AMD K6-2 processor 3D 550 MHZ/256 MB /100 MHZ system bus/what is the max potential of this board?By how much can I overclock it?Or can it be overclocked at all?

Most Super Socket 7 mobos have a maximum multiplier of 5.5 and a max of 100 Mhz. This gives a max of 550 Mhz. The only way you can improve performance, is IF you can find a K6-3/450 Mhz (not k6-3+ [mobile]), unless your mobo can support the k6-3+. 450 Mhz is the highest clock for the K6-3/3+ made. AMD discontinued the K6 processor line after they came out with the K7 slot A Athlon line. Look at the jumper settings to determine what you can do. Check the mobo manual or go to the manufacturer website and download the pdf manual. Also see what cpus are supported.
The K6-3/450 outperforms the K6-2/500 and the 3s are very hard to find, where the 3+ is easy to find on eBay for instance. LOL, I have a k6-3+/450 (excellent condition) sitting around here (mobo didn't support it). If your mobo supports the K6-3+, I would be happy to priority mail it to you, IF you live in the USA. This one has a 2.0 Vcore and 3.3V I/O. Email me IF you meet the above requirements [grin].

Charles,
Do you still have the AMD K6-3+/450? Is it OK, and will it work in the desktop FIC mainboard, FIC VA-503+ Rev 1.2A, EO037? I know the K6-3/450 will work. but I don't know what the K6-3+ is. Perhaps you can tell me the difference between the 3 and the 3+
I just jumped into this thead from Google, so I don't even thought if you will get this message.
Harry
