Dual Core CPU's are very good cpu's, well the ones by AMD are, they allow you to basically Multitask much better, u may notice if you run a virus scan and try to play a game it all slows down, or if u burn a cd and try to play a game, computer dies, but dual core allows once core to for example run the antrivirus while you play a game perfectly at the same time. If your looking for Dual Core get it, and get one by AMD, they work realy well, and programs are slowly being deigned for dual core cpus and will be the way forward hopefully.

Dual Core processors are the future. However only a hand full of software programs currently take full advantage of them. If you use your PC for games then go for a single core processor as there aren't any games at present that have the instructions to use the dual cores. If you want to buy a good processor however and don't want the hassle of having to upgrade for a while go for dual core, otherwise don't bother.
