Subject: What do you think?
OS: WinXP Pro
CPU/Ram: 2.0Ghz/1024MB
Comment:

I am upgrading to:
Abit NF7-S rev2
DDR400 (PC3200)
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ "Barton" 400FSB 2.2Ghz

What do you think my overclocking capabilities would be?

How would I go about changing the BIOS settings to bring my CPU temps down a notch?

Any suggestions are very appreciated.

Abit NF7-S rev2 @ $59.00
DDR400 (PC3200) @ $76.99 (Geil VS 512MB)
Athlon XP 3200+ @ $178.00

GIGABYTE "GA-K8NS-939" @ $85.00
DDR433 (PC3500) @ $57.50 (Geil UP 256MB)
Athlon 64 3000+ @ $160.00

What are you upgrading from?

B4 you criticize a bigger man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, you're a mile away, and you have his shoes.

You'll be able to overclock a LOT higher with a 2500+ mobile & it's about 1/2 the price of a 3200+ desktop CPU. 2.5GHz is "normal" & many report hitting 2.6GHz+. And with the money you save on the CPU, you can invest in some PC3500 RAM (or better).

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz
512MB PC3200
Asus Ti4200 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro
