You can get to 4ghz with that chip if you have all the right stuff, like prometia and all that. I've got a 3.06ghz and a 8knxp, i was able to geet to 3.8 max but not 100% stable so i'm at 3640mhz right now.

First thing you want to do is turn the fsb up(in the bios) 1 or 2 mhz at a time. Everytime you turn the fsb up 1 mhz the speed of the cpu goes up a bit, the ram speed goes up a bit at the same time.
Test it with 3dmark 2k1 2k3 for stability every 1-2mhz fsb.

That's all there is to it, just keep turning the fsb up until the temps get too high or the ram speed gets too high(which will cause it to crash). When the ram speed gets too high just turn the ram speed down to the next setting or increase the latency timings. Once you do that you can keep turning the fsb up until the ram speed gets too high again or until the temps get too high. Then just repeat what i said above.

Also when you overclock the cpu alot it might get unstable and crash so just turn up the vcore to the next setting..vcore gives stability to the cpu when oced. Don't go to far with the vcore cause it will also cause heat and can damage your cpu if too high. Check to see how far others have got with the vcore for your cpu.

Just make sure you watch your temps. Make sure they don't go over 60-65c.

For best overclocking result, I'd highly recommand water cooling or vaporchill. Best heatsink and high RPM fan works, but you won't able to overclock as much. It'll be best if you have an untility in windows that allows you to do 1-2Mhz increasment so you dont have to reboot the system every time. That $1000 gainwald card is pretty tight, If I have da $$$, I would get it and overclock like crazy. Don't forget that there is always ebay =)
