Hi, I have Abit BX133 mobo and SETUP/SoftMenu allows me increase Vcore only by 50mV to max 1,55V. I know that VRM can set much more voltage. So I'm trying to find out how BIOS programm the VRM on startup to set Vcore and then modify it to my value. Anybody knows how it works on mobo with software Vcore controll?
I guessed that VRM (RC5058) VID pins may be connected to some general purpose IO pins of the PIIX4 or Winbond SuperIO. I dump all registers of those chips but any difference was foud when I changed Vcore in setup, dump again and compare results. What the hell way is BIOS using? It must be able to change it software way...
Now I found other hack how to set Vcore - I modify CMOS RAM to set it. It works pretty well (until you save nev SETUP configuration, then you need to set it again). But I still don't know how directly control the VRM.
Summary: I think old system like P3 setup demand more from +3.3 and +5 more than +12v.... It could be due to the age of the capacitor and voltage regulator module on the motherboard, resulting less current an...
Summary: Hey guys I have Compaq Proliant 800 computer. I pretty sure it is a Pentium II. How do I find out what kind of VRM (Voltage Regulation Module) it has? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
