hi! i have posted here a while a go for some O/c.. now i run it at the regular speed.. 12*133.. and sometimes on 145 when its cold inside.. (hehe).. right know i run winamp and two explorer bars.. and my temp is 51c. i had temps like 40-45 a month ago.. but the summer heat is killing me.. and my cpu!! i use volcano 9 at full speed and two 120mm fans blowing out on top. i have the sidedoor and the topdoor open at all times.. i have about 40$ so i cant buy watercooling..is it my xp 1900 polomino that makes it so darn hot? mb temp 31c. asus a7v333 isdn card network car IDE expansion card sb 5.1 live pinnacle video capture card geforce 4 mx420 two ibm deskstar 120gxp 80gb dvd-rom cd-rw please help me to get temps below 50c on full load..

There are many things that u can do! But the one that i dont think people are going to post here is for u to turn that volcano down a little!! I cant remember if its that volcano or the 7 or wot ever! But i have heard that some people have turned down there volcano to around 3000rpm - 3500rpm and have shaved off about 4c or 5c! Give that a try! Im sure other people will right back with things like case cooling etc! I would but i dont really have the best knowledge on that :)

i have tried to lower the rpm to 3600 and 2400 but it goes up 2-4c for each of the steps. but would it help if i mod some fan holes and put some fans to blow some air in? i have tried almost everything!! but is polomino core a hotter type or is it the same with all xp? i mean.. my brother have xp2200 and about the same spec and he is running cool at 40-42 at all times! thanks P.S. I cant afford to buy a that big fan.. yet!

That xp2200 is a tbred so its 8C-10C cooler than your palomino. 51C is normal depending on your ambient. My 2000+ palomino runs at 54C all summer long with an ambient of 27C. Not much to worry about.

but still it is not stable... if i invested in a xp2200 (used) it would drop the temps by 8-10?!?! cos i can get a 2200 4 40 bux... isnt the tbred multiplier unlocked? then i dont have to risk to wreck it.. thanks!!

i have bin at a norwegian site called overklokking.no i have found out that if i move the hd and the cd roms to another tower i can place a couple of more fans so that i can get it cooler.. does anyone of you guys that know how temps work with fans think that it is a good idea.. i have aopen maxi 08 tower i think.. i was planning to make holes in the front and put some enermax 120mm fans there... any more suggestions or something i schould think about? any help is appreciated.. sorry the spelling.. dont knoe much english..
