Just Found this site while trying to answer a question about my mobile 2500xp

My question bieng:-

Is is normal for sandra(2004)to name my xp2500-m(Overclocked) as:-

"Mobile Athlon XP M10 ( Barton/Thorton ) 130nm 1.6GHz+"

As yet unanswered.

Any other people with same cpu get the same result?

Anyone shed light on the barton/thorton?

The mobile processor is not recognized by most desktop bios' and anything but unknown processor.

Sandra just reads the bios for that info. What does your bios say it is when you boot?

BTW, Thorton is a Barton with 256kb of L2 cache and it runs at a default fsb of 266Mhz instead of 333Mhz.

If I'm wrong, someone will be by shortly to correct me.

Yeah, the thorton is 1/2 the barton cache.

My bios states the mhz it's running at but it also did when I was o'cing my thoroughbred 2400.

I've tried a couple of cpu id programs and results differ.

Some say model 10 others model A,most agree family 6.

When I overclock my 2400+ on my old board, it goes to 2600+ and then to unknown processor at xxxxMhz. Blame it on the bios writers?
