OS: xp professional
CPU/Ram: 1.8ghz

i tried to upgrade my processor from an intel celeron 1.8 to an intel celeron 2.2 but my computer wont turn on with the 2.2. am i doing something wrong?

any help greatly appreciated

Did you go to the motherboard manufacturer's website & check the CPU support list for your board?

I think you will see a bigger jump by upgrading to P4 1.8A than Celeron 2.2Ghz since the Celeron only have 2-way associative cache compared to P4 8-way...

thanks, my motherboard was made by intel so i presumed all intel processors would work with it.
