Hello there people, I am currently running a P4 1.6 Ghz on my system and have been offered a second hand P4 2.2 from a Sony Vaio desktop model rx306. What i need to know is if my HP Pavillion.750.uk will support such a CPU?
you can go the economical route and put in a 2.6 ghz celeron...IF that board supports it...those detailed specs site you posted is not that helpful...NEITHER is that naked boy

I don't know if that MOBO will support any CPU other than the one it came with. I couldn't find it on the HP site.
Did you try a Google search?

Third>> HP says my MoBo can only support up to a 2.2 P4, and of course they are pushing me to pay crazy prices for a new one. They also advise that i do not change the MoBo on my system as it is configured to run HP hardware, yeah right. If they got their way i would end up with a new system and anther pile of debt.
Thanx guys, anybody else want to chip in with an opini?on
