Subject: Upgrading my cpu?
OS: win98
CPU/Ram: AMD K6-2/333
Comment:

I currently have a AMD K6-2 333MHz cpu on my Acer Aspire model number 1872 with a V58XA-2N motherboard. I'm not sure if I can upgrade my cpu and if I can I don't know the jumper settings. How can I find this info out? I found a table on the net listing the jumper settings for processors ranging from an AMD K6/266 up to the AMD K6-2/333. Is this an indication that the motherboard won't allow for anything higher than the 333MHz processor? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks,
Ragland

The best solution would be to buy a mobo/CPU
combo.There are many under $150US on pricewatch.com

We need the mohterboard model number and make.

Open the machine, it is stamped on the motherboard somewhere.

Then we can tell you.
