I'm upgrading my Mobo, CPU, and memory. I have everything picked out expect for the cpu. I'm stuck between the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz and the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600 2.9GHz. I'm stuck because of the L1 and L2 caches. The 6000 has 1MB L2 cache and the 5600 has 128KB+128KB L1 cache and 2 x 512mb L2 Cache. Can someone Help explain the difference and help me choose which is best. I would like to stay with these two choices too.

From what I've read, the L2 cache amount doesn't matter so much with AMD CPUs as it does with Intel CPUs. My guess is it's because of the integrated memory controller.

Get the X2 5400+ Black Edition & overclock the heck out of it :-)
