Comment: hi my laptop has a intel celeron 2.6ghz (2600mhz) 128kb L2 CACHE 400 BUS SPEED i was thinking on updating the processor although this is an high speed processor i was thinking in getting a pentium 4 is it worth getting a pentium 4 ? could i intall it in a laptop ? thanks for any information bond

Reply: (edit)That depends very much on you laptop. First of you need to know if the cpu is in a socket on the board or just soldered to it. If it's in a case you can theoretically change it against one with the same socket. If not you have to live with your celeron. And another very important matter is your cooling. A pentium4 will produce a lot more heat and I doubt your cooling is able to handle that. If it's too hot the pentium4 may run slower than the celeron or not at all!
