Comment:
I had a Gateway that had the motherboard go bad in it and it had a 1 Ghz Intel processor. I found a HP Cognac 200000731 that came out of a HP 7840 and put it with the 1Ghz processor which has Phoenix Bios 4.0 Release 6.0 installed and everything turn on and loaded up but the CPU only recognized 750 Mhz. I need help in getting it to recognize the full 1 Ghz.

Your CPU is supposed to run at 7.5 x 133MHz (1.0GHz). If your new board only supports 100MHz FSB, the CPU will run at 7.5 x 100MHz (750MHz). Look in the BIOS to see if there's a way to change the FSB setting...if there's not, there *may* be a jumper on the motherboard. If you have neither, you're stuck at 750MHz.
