Hello, i have an amd xp 2200+ thoroughbred pro, im trying to change the multiplier settings but when i do my comp doesnt boot. I thought that the thoroughbred's are already unlocked? and is this why my comp doesnt boot when i change the settings because it isnt unlocked? thanks

If it's a t-bred then yes it is factory overclocked. But, you need a KT400 chipset on the motherboard or the NFORCE chipset on the mobo.

Tbred are factory unlocked. you need a mobo that allows you to change multipliers in the BIOS.

as for chipsets, it really depends on how the mobo manufacturer.

Technically, any VIA chipset KT133a or newer can run that tbred, or SiS 735, 745, and 746 too and of course the Nvidia NForce2
