unlocking AMD multipliers

I am about to unlock the multipliers on my 2100xp AMD-palomino chip by bridging the socket holes on 'AJ27' and 'AH26' using fine wire to gain access to multipliers 'over' 12.5 (HI value). Is this safe/correct practise???

Does the lead actually create a conductive path across the base of the pins or is there some other way????? im not sure how to do this??? Ive heard of the pencil trick a lot but never tried it

pencil wont work. those nice guys at amd have laser locked all new xp chips. goto this link to find out how to unlock xp chips. http://www6.tomshardware.com/howto/20011112/index.html
it does work 'cause i'm running xp1800 at xp2700 just be patient as i've allready chalked up one dead chip
