Reply: (edit)well from what i know, the new P4 series, say the 3.8 "570" out does any athlon 64, the athlon FX55 is the only thing that comes close, and that cost alot more than the P4 3.8Ghz. And with an unlocked multiplier you could easily get say a P4 3.4 Ghz to 4.2 - 4.5Ghz with really good air cooling.
