Solved trying to unlock and overclock a amd 140 sempron

Specs: Windows 7 sevice pack one, ddr 3 2dual 4 gigs kingston
hey guys well i been hearing all this talk about the amd sempron that it could that it cant , till this day theres some people that have done and some that just havent. well what iam trying to say is could i unlock the second core of a amd sempron 140 or at least overclock it?? iam working with a asus M4n68t-m series mortherbroad with a 7800gt nvidia gefroce video card and 2 dual ddr 3 4 gigs kingston 2048 sticks of ram and the last but not least amd sempron 140. i dont have a cule of overclocking or unlocking but i been looking into it and i want to learn so if anybody could give me the heads up that will be cool of you guys. o by the way iam running a windows 7 32 bit i understand that windows is only regonizing 3 gigs of ram so if i have to change it to 64 bit so be it. here goes my computer detailes amd sempron 140, asus m4n68t-m v2 motherbroad , nvidia gt 7800 geforce video card, 4 gigs of ddr 3 kingston 2048 ram . windows 7 32 bit. hopefully you guys could help me out thanks

Have you done any research? Have you checked the Asus website? Have you read the motherboard manual? Are you running the most recent BIOS available for your board?

The BIOS supports "Core Unlocker" so all you need to do is enable it & hope for the best. It will either unlock the extra core or it won't, it depends on the CPU. I have a Sempron on one of my systems - it wouldn't unlock but I was able to overclock the heck out of it.

If you're a rookie to overclocking, you should read up on theory because there's a lot to it & a lot to know. Since your CPU multiplier cannot be increased, overclocking must be done by increasing the CPU reference clock. However, increasing the reference clock affects the HT bus, memory bus, PCIe & PCI bus, etc. so you need to know how to re-adjust those settings to compensate & keep everything stable.

yes yes and a double yes and last night i just unlocked the second core from a sempron to a athlon 2 440 iam so proud of myself this is this first time somthing in my part came out right. and i was just about to go to fryes to buy a other cpu, but you right about doing your homework that unlocking the second core wasent easy i went threw two harddrives just to get it started well riider thanks alot i will look into it cause iam not done yet i want to overcolock it too but for know iam gonna just relax for a while good looking thanks agian.
