CPU usage rising when running program or playing video is normal. Look for another cause such as heat build up. make sure you are using it on a hard surface so vents are not blocked by fabric. Run speedfan or similar program to monitor your internal temperatures to confirm that this is where your freezing is coming from. Being new from May I would think you should not have much dust build up but you can try blowing out with compressed air can to be sure.
You can remove many processes from starting with windows (msconfig start tab, uncheck all except microsoft and antivirus, OK and restart computer) and see if that makes enough difference in CPU usage and heat build up.
You can use Malwarebytes to make sure you do not have an infection.
Remember your laptop is new so you can bring it back for warranty service.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
