hello again. I have had enough of dells crappy pc's and have decided to sell this thing and build my own pc. i'm on a budget but would like some info on a reasonable priced good sli motherboard as i will be using an intel core 2 quad processor in it. and if you have some sugestions on a good psu that can handle 2x 9800gtx's black edition in sli. the only problem i might have is getting the correct psu and case for the motherboard and need a bit of help with that. i can install the cpu myself no problem. i just need some good info on this as i don't want to get anything wrong here. thanks

and one more thing i will be probably buying the motherboard and cpu from this site www.komplett.ie. thanks for any help on this

"You're on a budget but you're getting a quad & two 9800GTX's??"
....this could be one of those scenarios where budget might be relative - eh. LOL

LOL well lets just say after i checked the price of the 9800gtx's i'll just manage 1 of them for now but i will be buying an sli motherboard lol. i have a budget of 900 euro. thats as far as i go. if i have to comrimise the quad no problem i can always upgrade...something that i cant do with this dell piece of ****

another thing i was looking at was the psu. i would need it to have a 8 pin molex as well as 2, 6 pin molex connectors from the psu for future upgrade to newer cards like the geforce gtx 280. just need some advice thats all. thanks lol
processor- core 2 quad 2.4ghz-174 euro
graphics card-9800gtx black edition 295 euro
motherboard-78 euro
case 138 euro.
psu ?
i already have 2gb memory i will use
i have a spare 500gb hdd
i have a spare dvd-rom-rw here as well
and xfi sound blaster card as well
psu i'm not sure of which company makes the best and most stable ones.
newegg sells good stuff for a reasonable price but most of these places don't sell to ireland. and trying to buy stuff here especially electronic or computer components is a ripoff. hence the name ripoff ireland.

Even if you are in the Ireland, a few of the online retailers below ought to land you some savings.

Oh & BTW, you might be strategically better off with a dual core CPU at this time, since most games out there are not yet optimized to fully harness the performance of the quad-core CPUs currently out on the market.

jeasus christ man have you been shopping. look the prices are in pounds add it up and take away to euro price all the same prices i pointed out from komplett. i ask a simple question for advice and you give me a load of bollox. cheers man i checked all those sites ages ago and it still works out at about the same price. thanks for the advice on the psu which is what i really needed to know about. waste of time.

No need to give attitude.
Get a PSU with a single +12v rail with high amperage. If the site you're buying from doesn't list a breakdown of the amperages & the number/type of plugs, check the PSU manufacturer's website. I suggest you look at the Corsair units.

now you got it. really dear here. vat and tax kills us here. look Sabertooth/jam i'll look into this stuff myself. i am on a buget of 900 euro which is very high anyway but i just needed a bit of guidance toward a good psu motherboard which i know you both have alot of experience in these matters. sorry for the attitude but hey.
