hello again. I have had enough of dells crappy pc's and have decided to sell this thing and build my own pc. i'm on a budget but would like some info on a reasonable priced good sli motherboard as i will be using an intel core 2 quad processor in it. and if you have some sugestions on a good psu that can handle 2x 9800gtx's black edition in sli. the only problem i might have is getting the correct psu and case for the motherboard and need a bit of help with that. i can install the cpu myself no problem. i just need some good info on this as i don't want to get anything wrong here. thanks

....this could be one of those scenarios where budget might be relative - eh. LOL

processor- core 2 quad 2.4ghz-174 euro
graphics card-9800gtx black edition 295 euro
motherboard-78 euro
case 138 euro.
psu ?
i already have 2gb memory i will use
i have a spare 500gb hdd
i have a spare dvd-rom-rw here as well
and xfi sound blaster card as well
psu i'm not sure of which company makes the best and most stable ones.
newegg sells good stuff for a reasonable price but most of these places don't sell to ireland. and trying to buy stuff here especially electronic or computer components is a ripoff. hence the name ripoff ireland.

Even if you are in the Ireland, a few of the online retailers below ought to land you some savings.

www.ChillBlast.com

www.MicroDirect.co.uk

Good luck!

Oh & BTW, you might be strategically better off with a dual core CPU at this time, since most games out there are not yet optimized to fully harness the performance of the quad-core CPUs currently out on the market.

No need to give attitude.

Get a PSU with a single +12v rail with high amperage. If the site you're buying from doesn't list a breakdown of the amperages & the number/type of plugs, check the PSU manufacturer's website. I suggest you look at the Corsair units.
