Hi,

I have a Leadtek Winfast Geforce 4 Ti4200 128 MB. I was wondering how far can i overclock it considering that it hast a fairly hefty heatsinck look: http://www.leadtek.com/graphics/a250le-myvivo/a250le-myvivo.htm

That thing goes around the whole card!

Just wondering.

thanks in advance

Looking at the link. I assume you have the my ViVo version of Leadtek Ti4200 with 64 on-board ram. My overclocking information is based on Leadtek Ti4200 64 ram without ViVo but I believe their perfomance and overclocking capabilities are very much the same.

Default clock/memory speed:
250core/513memory

On this card Leadtek uses a HSF set up for its cooling system with a good amount of thermal greese that helps cooling. The HSF set up will cause noise but outperforms regular cooling system. Overclocking won't be a problem.

Maximum overclocked Core/Memory
305core/630memory

At this speed the GPU/memory will run smoothly without stall/blue screen/lock-up situations. Any further overclocking will result in damaging the graphic board itself and other computer components try it at your own risk.

By the way just a note I have a Leadtek myself they do come with great overclocking software so use it. Leadtek is one of the top overclockers. =)

Keep in mind, overclocking results vary HIGHLY per computer...So just because Bob has a high overclocking, doesnt exactly mean you will be able to produce the same thing...(you dont want to burn that puppy up)
