Comment: I am curious how important the functionality of thermal paste is to cooling processor. I have moved around a few processors and heat sinks/fans and broken the thermal paste but then just reattached the device. Is this a big deal? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Good thermal paste decrease CPU temperature, good skilled thermal pasting also decrease your CPU temperature. I mean if you don't believe me touch the termal paste with your oily hands next time you apply it and watch your temperature sky rocketing. Things such as dead skin cells on the paste or dried hair can affect cooling. If you're not overclocking maybe its not a concern but keeping temperature low is always smart =D
