?? you didnt put that stuff between your cpu and HSF did you??

In huge bold letters on the top of the page it says "Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive IS NOT intended to be used between a CPU and the CPU heatsink. On a CPU, only use. Arctic Silver Thermal Compound" ..... down the page it says "Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is a permanent adhesive. Components you attach with
Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive will stay attached forever." ..... id say your up sh*t creek without an oar.

God damn, that's the funniest thing I've read in ages!

ffs you moron!

only thing i can suggest is maybe really heating it up on full load or maybe with ur pc switched off and use a hair dryer and try and move it around a little bit once it has got really hot.

remember not to take it off if ur pc in on tho.

I'm with johnoh, you best be quitting while it's still alive.

He's an idea: strip it down, buy some cheap generic crap to fill it and sell it to some unknowing sweet little old lady. Buy yourself a new board, and a new CPU, and either take some time to research first (and I do mean that in a nice way), or pay someone the $20 labour time to do it for you.

You don't have children, do you? :)

That's hilarious!

Hmmmm....what does adhesive mean? You just permanently attached the heatsink to your CPU...now you're stuck with it (no pun intended). Chances are, if you try to remove it, you'll destroy the CPU.

Next time, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! It's the very 1st sentence!

"Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive IS NOT intended to be used between a CPU and the CPU heatsink."

If neal's blow dryer method does not cut it, put it in a ziplock baggie and toss it in the freezer for about 20 minutes to half an hour and "for lack of a better phrase" snap the CPU off afterwards.

Btw, never leave the house without your glasses in the future or you might be stuffed even worse.

yeah, the stuff was made to put heatsinks on memory and southbridges etc.

as it will be increasing the surface area of the heat source, it will make the temps for what you put it on, go down.
