What the real advantage of Prescott? is it superior to a same MHz hyperthreaded chip? if not what is intel's best Proccessor right now for the desktop?

Extreme Edition is their best but you probably do not want to pay $999 dollars for it. Prescott is hyperthreaded and is Intel's newest proc so if your an intel fan go with it (3.2 GHZ or higher)

How about best buy...P4C 2.4. The problems you'll run into with a P4E chip are not insurmountable but they are irritating.

If you want the best Intel machine right now, stay away from prescott!

If you can wait 6-months, there is little doubt that prescott will eventually ROCK...
