So here's the story. I recently bought a new MSI mobo 865PE Neo2-V chipset, I got the board because my old board didnt support dual channel mem and my processor max bandwidth was 2:1 over my rams max bandwidth so my computer seemed to bottleneck a lot. Anyways the problem...(this may sound very noobish) I switched out my components and put in the new mobo with everything else the same as before...the issue is windows won't start, I think this is a protection thing, it comes to the windows xp loading screen before it goes past it flashes a blues screen (it goes to fast i can't read it or pause [even tried taking a picture]) and resets and starts over again and then itll go to the windows xp loading and before it loads flash the blue screen and reset...So I'm figuring it's because of the new mobo, I swapped the old mobo back in and put it back together (that's what im on now) I was wondering how I can get windows to accept my new chipset and new drivers...is there a way or do I have to purchase windows and a new hard drive? Any suggestions?

I think the reason windows xp lock and resets my system is because the new mobo has a new chipset and so I put back in the mobo i was using before and it works fine again. I basically wanted to replace my old mobo and keep the exact components.

You have to perform the board swap correctly.

You can also run a repair install of XP after changing your motherboard.

Or you could just reload Windows. Just swapping a loaded drive in doesn't work very well. Make sure it is a legal copy because you will have to activate again either way.
