Comment: Which temp is it thats supposed to be lower (Below 50 degrees). CPU or system? I ask because the way my computer is OCed right now I can run toast for hours and my system temp will peak in the low 40s but my CPU temp gets to the high 60's. The hardware monitor that came with my MB shows 80degrees as the high temp for CPU and 50 as the high for system. Wondering if thats right or backwards?

Reply: (edit)That sounds good. Your CPU should be warmer and it should peak in the low 40's however I sense poor case ventilation. Get more fans in your case and make sure you position them so they bring in air from the bottom front to the top back. Good Luck.

Reply: (edit)Sounds like either your case is poorly ventilated or your temp readings are inaccurate. If the case is vented properly, the system temp should be within about 5C of room temp. I don't know what your average room temp is, but if you're in an extremely warm climate & room temp is about 100F (38C), you're doing OK. If not, you need to re-evaluate your case cooling Asus A7N8X-X 1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz 512MB PC3200 Asus Ti4200 128MB WinME/WinXP Pro

Reply: (edit) Well I just put a box fan against my computer and opened the case and turned it on high. After running toast for 2 hours the temp was still in the 40's so I guess (hopefully) the temp sensors are off. Cuz that seems pretty impossible with that much airflow.

Reply: (edit)Yes, there is a way using a thermocouple but it ain't easy and you'll need to buy some additional equipment. What motherboard do you have? One reason board manufacturers update the bios is to correct erroneous settings like temps being under or over reported. Skip
